Summer Gear Rentals

Q: I'd like to rent a bear spray.

If your trip to Yukon is already planned, we highly recommend making an online reservation as early as possible. While walk-in rentals are accepted, bear sprays are in high demand and may be fully booked by the time you visit the store.

Q: How does bear spray rental work?

We scale the weight of each rental bear spray once it is returned to us to make sure it is used or unused (the weight of each bear spray before renting out is labelled at the bottom of each spray). If it is used, a fee of $60 + GST will be charged.

Q: Are the bear sprays brand new?

The bear sprays we rent are not brand new but are unused. We check the weight before and after each rental to confirm that the spray has not been discharged.

Q: There was no stock available for bear spray rental. Are there any other rental shops in town?

We are the only store in Whitehorse that offers bear spray rentals. If our inventory is unavailable, we recommend purchasing one at Coast Mountain Sports or Canadian Tire in downtown.

Q: I used the bear spray.

If the bear spray has been discharged or lost, a fee of $60 + GST will be charged.

Q: Do you rent camping cutlery?

We don’t rent camping cutlery for hygienic reasons; however, we do have camping cutlery for purchase.

How our rental process works?

Extra time for easy pickup & return

Our rental period is designed to make your trip easier.

You can pick up your gear from the afternoon of the day before your rental starts, and return it by 11 in the morning after your final rental day.

This extra time means you don't have tor rush on your travel days and can start your adventure eary and finish it comfortably.

Example: You order July 15–18
→ You can pickup from July 14 afternoon / You need to return by July 19 at 11 AM

24/7 Locker Pickup/Return Available

Pick up your rental anytime, even late at night or early in the morning.

Selected items are available for 24/7 locker pickup.
Simply follow the instructions and collect your gear at your convenience.

Detailed locker pickup instructions will be included in your confirmation email after booking.

*Locker pickup is available for selected items only.
Some items require in-store pickup due to size or handling requirements.

**If your order includes items that are not eligible for locker pickup, in-store pickup will be required.

***Even if all items are locker-eligible, availability may vary depending on the size and quantity of your order.

Cancellation

If a cancellation occurs within 14 days of the rental date, or in case of no show, there is a 100% cancellation fee. If a cancellation or reduction occurs within 30 days, a 50% cancellation & change fee applies. This will be 50% of original booking total. Outside of that time period cancellations are given a full refund. You can change your booking if items are still available any time prior to 48 hours before rental start date. Please read our Terms of Service for more details.
